King of the Cape Announces a hat trick in local shop sponsorship.
April
3, 2003
Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA
With
the size and scope of Verizon Wireless King of the Cape Freestyle Pro-Am
increasing this year, the need for local sponsorship was paramount.
As such, we are proud to announce that Sailworld Cape Cod, Island Sports
of Rhode Island, and Inland Sea Windsurf Company of West Dennis, have
joined forces as shop sponsors supporting the 2003 event. These shops
are the heart of windsurfing on New England and will be working in unison
to promote and grow the event. Jim Ballantyne has always been a huge
supporter of windsurfing in the community on Cape Cod, Platt Johnson
has been in the windsurfing business promoting windsurfing at every
level since the 70's, and Philip Mann has been a very active shop in
Vermont for years and has recently moved his operation to Cape cod.
It only made sense to have all the shops involved in the event.
"We
are very excited to be involved. It is an event that ANY windsurfer
can participate. My wife cracked her first jibe during her heat at the
1999 event and even won the novice division." -- Philip Mann, Inland
Sea Windsurf Company, West Dennis, MA.
"We
appreciate being involved and it will be a great event." -- Jim
Ballantyne, Sailworld Cape Cod, Buzzards Bay, MA.
"The
KOTC Windfest and Kids Camp will a major event. We couldn't miss a change
to contribute and support all our friends." -- Platt Johnson, Island
Sports, Newport, RI.
