KOTC Announces 2003 event

Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA2003 Verizon Wireless King of the Cape Freestyle Pro-Am will be returning for its 5th year to West Dennis Beach, Cape Cod in June 2003 with a cash purse of $15,000. This annual event showcases the best pro, amateur, and novice freestyle talent from the US and around the world, and is soon to be recognized on the PWA Tour 2003 calendar. Title Sponsor Verizon Wireless has signed on again for another year, as well as Paul Mitchell Sports, Bic Sport North America, distributors of AHD, Gaastra, Fiberspar and Red Bull.
What makes King of the Cape unique is that it caters to both the seasoned pro, as well as the average weekend warrior who dabbles in freestyle. Whether you are competing or watching, the fun factor will be set to the max the whole weekend. And in keeping the fun flowing for 2003, the event will return to its roots by using the round robin event format to help increase sailing time on the water. The double elimination ladders used last year reduced sailing time in half. This year the time on the water will be maximized for all participants.
Another important ingredient in the success of this event is ensuring sailors (and spectators) have as much fun on the water as they do off. To this effect, we have Red Bull hosting parties for all during the festival weekend, and the continued support of our title sponsor Verizon.
