2004 Nevin Sayre Kid's Camp
EACH MORNING!!

What the 2004 Nevin Sayre Kid’s Camp is all about:

Fun! The whole idea is to provide a fun, friendly, easy way for kids, aged 5-12, to experience the joy of windsurfing and to enhance their confidence in water with the world’s greatest sport. I learned how to windsurf when I was eighteen and it was the best thing I ever did. I only wish I could have started earlier. Windsurfing gave me an appreciation for the wind and water, and a focus that nothing else could have given me in the same way. Because windsurfing is a different experience every time you go out, it is a sport that will intrigue for your entire life. Putting this event together is the best thing I can do for kids. The whole thing is only possible with a network of friends, volunteers, and donations in kind so that we can offer this free for kids. All that you need is your life jacket, sun screen, and a smile. If you have a wetsuit, definitely bring it. The success of the first five Kid’s Camps 1999-2003 on Cape Cod has sparked a new emphasis on teaching kids to windsurf, on kid’s windsurfing equipment, and is the model for a new tour of like Kid’s Camps around the U.S.

Like last year, the Nevin Sayre Kid’s Camp is combined with Windfest and the King of the Cape international freestyle event. This makes a windsurfing weekend that is great for the whole family.

The Kid’s Camp is geared to first-time windsurfers, but there will also be instructors for kids who already have experience.

Each participant will receive a special Kid’s Camp shirt from HowlingBird Studio in Falmouth, designed by Stina Sayre. Special thanks to Cindy Moore and Fiberspar for donating the shirts. There will also be cool giveaways from Da Kine and The Black Dog.

What Kids should bring to the Kid’s Camp:
1. Life Jacket
2. wetsuit, if you have one
3. water shoes are a good idea
4. sun screen
5. picnic lunch for the whole family
6. BIG SMILE

What Volunteers should bring to the Kid’s Camp:
1. water shoes are a good idea
2. wetsuit (The water temperature is similar to Buzzard’s Bay.)
3. sun screen
4. picnic lunch for the whole family
5. BIG SMILE
